Less than 100 days since a new government took over, the number of robberies and criminal attacks have sharply increased in Nairobi. Kenyans online have shared gory images of stabbed, shot and choked victims whose only mistake was to wake up and go to work, or leaving work place for home! Some hospitals have also reported treating injuries arising from these crimes.
A Medical Practitioner claimed that practitioners received several patients assaulted along Drive-In Flyover up to KCA University along Thika Road, KCA Underpass and Total Exit, Globe Roundabout and Kipande Road.
Other flagged areas were ABC Place and Kangemi along Waiyaki Way, Naivas AllSops along Thika Super Highway, the CBD (Archives), River Road and Fig Tree area and KBC offices along Harry Thuku Road.
Kenyans have taken to online to share the harrowing experiences with most blaming government laxity and failure to get to work. Others blamed the recent disbandment of key police units by president William Ruto.
The ministry of interior was particularly criticized as many hailed praises on the former holder, Dr Matiangi.
